Kiss is coming to Vancouver. This was the first rock band I ever saw. I was 15 years old and it was a school night! September 14, 1977 at the Ottawa Civic Center. I ran down to the front of the stage and I was right there. It was the best. I was right under Gene Simmons. I had never been to a show before (Osmonds didn’t count) and this rocked. I remember practically giving myself whiplash thrashing to the sounds of Rock N Roll All Night and Detroit Rock City. I don’t remember a lot of that first concert, just that it was great.
They are coming to Vancouver on Nov 14. Gene Simmons is now 60, and Paul (my fave) still looks fabulous. I never thought they were great musicians, but they put on a killer show. Nobody does a show with all the pyrotechnics and guitar thrashing like they do. That’s what I’m looking forward to.
